Dear Kate,
I've struggled with mental illness: depression, paranoia, and anxiety, for over forty years, due to a marijuana induced psychosis.
Why in the hell would I give money to an agenda driven organization, who's "policy" is to deliberately ignore and misrepresent published data from doctors, scientists, researchers, and major health organizations, who consistently report about the very real dangers of marijuana?
In its quest to fill coffers with tax dollars, MPP shows itself as being utterly unconcerned about the suffering, physical and mental, that marijuana has caused, and believe me Kate there' plenty of testimony about this on the Internet, if one has the courage to search for it.
So nothing personal, but for the sake of future potential victims, I hope MPP fails miserably.

Subject: Help legalize marijuana in Maryland!
Dear George,
Maryland could be one of the next states to legalize marijuana!
During the 2017 legislative session, MPP and allies made significant progress — helping to pass an expungement bill, defeating a bill to recriminalize public smoking, and increasing public and legislative support for taxing and regulating marijuana. And, we’re already busy planning for 2018!
Next year presents the ideal opportunity to urge the General Assembly to put marijuana legalization on the ballot, but we need your help! Because only the General Assembly can approve measures for the ballot in Maryland, we must set aside serious money to lobby our legislators, in addition to hosting several educational events and continuing our grassroots outreach efforts to build support across the state. With time ticking until the 2018 session begins, now is the time to raise these critical funds.
Please join our effort by giving the most generous gift you can today. And, ask your friends who support racial justice, personal freedom, commonsense policy, and progress to do the same.
Thank you,

Thank you,
(1) "marijuana education is honest and realistic." The thing is, MPP never gives marijuana's dangers an honest hearing.
Personally, I don't care if people smoke responsibly in private. The problem with MPP's "Vision Statement" is that while they wish to see marijuana regulated like alcohol, which is a reasonable request, the part about education that is "honest and realistic," isn't happening.
With alcohol, part of the responsibility is that if in public, you only drink in licensed establishments, and you don't drive while drunk. MPP lives under the myth that being high doesn't effect your mind's ability to make critical decisions. However, studies by AAA show that driving while high has lead to an increase in marijuana-only traffic fatalities. It's effect on the mind is also supported by research and data, from doctors, hospitals, and scientists.
I would be more comfortable with MPP if they'd discuss these problems, but they don't. In fact, individuals before downright hostile if the subject is even mentioned.

Lori Robinson [email protected] - "Thanks so much for sharing this email with the MPP legal representative. It's very troubling times we are in these days with the MJ march forging ahead.
Hopefully, all of you fighting so hard to keep MD from legalization will prevail.
Please know you are not alone and eventually the truth and science should win out.
I did ask the website manager of Moms Strong to please be sure your email is on the list for any story updates. It may take a few days, but she will
check for you.
My best to you,
