“They don't shoot white kids in the back"
"Cops beat and murder Black people and don't get held accountable; they get paid leave off. When fired, they go to work in another precinct. They don't shoot white kids in the back. They don't beat and kill white women. The entire system needs to be overhauled, and killer cops need to be sent to prison." - Jeannie Marshall / Facebook / 2020-08-24
“They don't shoot white kids in the back … They don't beat and kill white women.”
I’m glad you mentioned that about black kids and women being killed.
There are far more black-on-black murders and crime than anything the police have done.
Ending this is what needs top prioriety on a national level.
Rioting, looting, and burning do nothing towards ending this sad situation. In fact, being caught up in the orgy of hate and violence not only serves to distract people’s attention away from this urgent need, it also harms the very communities that are in most need of stability.
From a psychological standpoint, blame and scapegoating are ways some people use to convince themselves that they are important, when in fact they do nothing to contribute to societies improvement.
If there were a mass movement along the lines of reducing black-on-black crime, that would be something that would have a positive effect for everyone, black and white, except for the criminals.
“The entire system needs to be overhauled.” But not by defunding the police. In the areas where that’s already happened, crime rates have escalated.
“ … and killer cops need to be sent to prison.”
Absolutely. However, rather then the assumption of guilt because it fits a political need, anyone so charged first has to be found guilty by an impartial jury who has examined all available evidence.
“Cops beat and murder Black people and don't get held accountable;”
From what I’ve seen in the news, they actually are held accountable when there’s evidence. I agree that as with any group of humans, there are those who abuse their authority. They must be rooted out.
“ … they get paid leave off.” Paid administrative leave is the norm in these situations. Under the laws of our nation, people are assumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law. To ignore this is to behave in the same manner as racist cops.
“When fired, they go to work in another precinct.”
Do you have hard, factual evidence to support this?
The reason I ask is that those who want to control our lives, often do so by giving the people they want to control something to fear. This type of indoctrination can make it difficult to see objective truth. Things political in nature, no matter what the position, often resort to this as a means of controlling other’s thoughts.
