A driver who police say was under the influence of marijuana lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a state police trooper’s SUV Sunday along I-75 in Springfield Township, Michigan State Police reports.
The trooper suffered minor injuries. The other driver wasn’t injured, police said.
According to police, at approximately 9 a.m. the trooper was attending to a traffic crash on northbound 1-75 south of Davisburg when the driver of a pickup truck traveling north in the left lane lost control of his vehicle, spun nearly 180 degrees and hit the side of the patrol SUV. Police say he was driving too fast for road conditions.
During the investigation, it was determined that the driver, age 51, was under the influence of marijuana, leading to his arrest and a blood draw was administered, police said.
