Marshy Point Park / Biscayne Bay
"The shores of Dundee and Saltpeter Creeks, over three thousand acres, are the largest area of natural wetlands and forest available for public study and enjoyment in the Baltimore area. Marshy Point Nature Center is the interpretive center for this protected corner of the Chesapeake Bay. Through exhibits, lectures, courses, school field trips, summer day camp, family nature walks and guided canoe trips the incredible diversity of life in the Chesapeake Bay can be seen and treasured."

"Frog Hike - 01"
2014 - 04 - 11
We gathered just before sunset at the Nature Center, then hiked down and across the bridge to the froggin' pond.

"Frog Hike - 02"

At the pond, me and a few others went off to the left, but most went off to the right.
As night fell, kid's chatter, except for an occasional "I Got One!," was drowned out by a mega chorus of spring peepers.

"Frog Hike - 03"

I spotted two spring peepers, from what must have been a gazillion or so around the pond.
Their sound was exceptionally loud. It's one thing to hear them in the distance, but being in their midst is a totally different matter.
This bullfrog was one of several that were hanging out around the pond in front of the nature center.

March 30, 2015 - Entrance Road
Because of all the recent rain, the woods had stygian look. Just like in the original King Kong film, I expected a Sauropod, i.e. Apatosaur, i.e. Brontosaur, to arise from one of the many ponds and give chase!
Biscayne Bay
The community of Biscayne Bay sits right next to Marshy Point Park, which mean we have a lot of the same critters that live in the park - the most common being amphibians.
Found this patriotic female American Toad hanging out in the grass on Memorial Day.
Judging by her plumpness, she's no problem snapping up tasty snacks
