Climate Change Links
In the mid 1980's, I was considering becoming a geologist, an outgrowth of my interest in fossils. I took four years worth of honors geology courses and was a docent for three years at the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History's Naturalist Center, a microcosim of the main museum where laymen could examine actual specimens.
What is obvious from Earth's geologic history, is that climate is not static and is constantly changing. There is as of yet, no method to determine what percentage of climate change is from man's influence, and what is natural.
I feel it would be better if the main focus was focused on pollution, because that is manmade, and its effects can be seen everywhere.
In my opinion, the real threat is the ever-growing population.

Ancient climate mirrored and influenced by geochemical processes deep within ocean - 2012

"Nowadays we often discuss global warming induced by man-made carbon dioxide. However, on geological timescales of millions of years other processes determine the carbon cycle ... Volcanoes are one major source of carbon dioxide input to the atmosphere. On the other hand the greenhouse gas is removed by weathering of rocks made up of carbonate."

"The new results suggest that the Atlantic ocean is capable of radical changes in how it circulates on timescales as short as a few decades."
